Job Description
The Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) will begin accepting applications for the International Peace Scholarship (IPS) from September 15 to December 15, 2025. This scholarship is designed to support international women pursuing graduate studies in the United States or Canada for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Founded in 1949, the IPS Fund aims to promote peace through education by helping women from around the world achieve their academic goals. While the scholarship offers generous support, it does not cover all living or academic costs. Applicants must show proof of additional funding to fully support their studies.
Scholarship Benefits

Maximum award: $12,500 (based on financial need; some awards may be less)

Funds are paid in two installments (fall and winter)

Note: The scholarship does not cover travel expenses. Applicants must have proof of return travel funding and agree to return to their home country within 60 days of completing their program or post-study training (e.g., OPT).

Who Can Apply?

Women from countries outside the U.S. and Canada

Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate degree program at a recognized university in the U.S. or Canada

Must have at least one full year of coursework remaining

Must plan to return to their home country to contribute to peace and development

Open to international students at Cottey College
Not eligible if you are:

A U.S. or Canadian citizen/permanent resident

Only enrolled in research, internships, or online programs without in-person coursework

A first-time applicant working only on a dissertation (with no classes)
