Opportunity Overview
The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) 2025 provide a prestigious opportunity for outstanding international students to pursue master’s or doctoral studies in Ireland. Administered by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), this fully-funded program is a collaborative effort between the Irish government and leading Irish universities. Each year, 60 scholarships are awarded for one year of full-time study at the master’s or PhD level. Students from diverse academic backgrounds are welcome to apply.

Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the GOI-IES 2025 scholarship, applicants must:
- Be citizens of countries outside the UK, Switzerland, EU/EEA, Russia, or Belarus.
- Apply for admission to a master’s, postgraduate diploma, or PhD program at an eligible institution in Ireland.
- Provide a copy of a conditional or final offer letter from the institution at the time of application.
- Ensure they have not previously been awarded a GOI-IES scholarship.
Selection Process
Applications undergo a multi-step evaluation:
- Initial Screening: Applications are reviewed by relevant institutions for eligibility and alignment with institutional goals.
- Independent Assessment: A panel evaluates applications based on:
- Academic excellence and achievements.
- Strong communication skills.
- Extracurricular involvement (e.g., arts, sports, leadership, humanitarian work).
- Clear motivation for studying in Ireland and alignment with long-term career objectives.

- References: Two recommendation letters uploaded via the application portal.
