Job Description

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) M.Sc. Scholarship Program for 2025-26 is now open for talented students from Least Developed Member Countries (LDMCs) who want to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Medicine.

This program, launched in 1998, aims to develop human resources in science and technology within LDMCs, supporting their socioeconomic growth. It seeks to increase the number of skilled professionals who can contribute to technology development, transfer, and maintenance while also preparing students for further academic advancement, such as qualifying for the IsDB Merit Scholarship Program for High Technology.

Financial Benefits:

The IsDB M.Sc. Scholarship is fully funded and covers:

  • Full tuition fees (paid directly to the university)
  • Monthly stipend (based on living costs in the study country)
  • Medical treatment costs (at the university or a local state hospital)
  • Thesis preparation allowance
  • Return economy-class airfare (one trip at the start and one at the end of studies, for students studying abroad)
  • Installation allowance (for students studying outside their home country)

What the scholarship does NOT cover:

  • Visa application fees
  • Family support expenses
  • Additional travel during studies
  • Research materials, fieldwork, or seminar/conference costs
  • Educational equipment (like laptops or software)
  • Residence permit fees

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of one of the 20 LDMCs
  • Be under 30 years old at the time of application
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Medicine
  • Have an above-average academic record
  • Be nominated by a scientific, academic, or research institution in their home country
  • Demonstrate language proficiency in the medium of instruction at the host university
  • Have a provisional or full admission at a recognized university (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Not be an IsDB staff member, Executive Director, or a close relative of IsDB personnel

Scholarship Recipient Commitments:

Successful applicants must commit to the following:

  • Complete their studies without interruption
  • Return to their home country after graduation
  • Work in science, technology, or development for at least twice the duration of the scholarship
  • Submit regular academic progress reports to IsDB
  • Not accept any other scholarship or paid work that may interfere with their studies
  • Sign a surety bond as a commitment to the program’s rules
