The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a non-profit organization focused on international development, working to improve living conditions and opportunities for people in some of the world’s poorest and most marginalized communities. It aims to promote sustainable economic and social development, focusing on areas such as health, education, rural development, and cultural preservation.
The foundation was established in 1967 by the Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims.
