Job Description

Applications are now open for the Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) 2025! This is a great chance for international students to study at top universities in Shanghai with full or partial financial support.

Established in 2006 by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the SGS aims to attract talented students from around the world and promote global academic exchange. It’s part of Shanghai’s plan to become a major global hub for science, technology, and education.

🎓 Scholarship Benefits:

Type A – Full Scholarship:

  • Tuition fees covered

    • Bachelor: ¥20,000–27,000/year

    • Master: ¥25,000–39,000/year

    • PhD: ¥38,000–45,000/year

  • Free accommodation: ¥8,400–12,000/year

  • Monthly living allowance:

    • Bachelor: ¥30,000/year

    • Master: ¥36,000/year

    • PhD: ¥42,000/year

  • Medical insurance: ¥800/year

Type B – Partial Scholarship:

  • Tuition fees covered (same as Type A)

  • Medical insurance only
    (No accommodation or living allowance)


Who Can Apply?

  • Must be a non-Chinese citizen and in good health

  • Age & Education Requirements:

    • Pre-college: Under 23 with high school diploma and a pre-admission letter

    • Bachelor: Under 25 with high school diploma

    • Master: Under 35 with a bachelor’s degree

    • PhD: Under 40 with a master’s degree

  • Must have strong academic records

  • Usually need HSK4 (Chinese language proficiency) or meet university’s language requirements

  • Cannot be receiving any other Chinese government scholarships
