Job Description

Are you a motivated student from a non-EU or non-EFTA country dreaming of studying at Romanian Government Scholarships? The Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (ARICE), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, is offering 40 fully funded scholarships for international students to study in Romania for the 2025–2026 academic year.

This scholarship is your chance to earn a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree at a Romanian university while learning the Romanian language and exploring a new culture.


What’s Covered?

If selected, you’ll receive:

  • Full tuition for the preparatory year (if needed) and your entire academic program

  • Monthly stipend for living expenses (including during the preparatory year)

  • Free accommodation in student dorms

  • Free medical services for emergencies and infectious diseases

  • Same local and national transport access as Romanian students

  • 30 extra days of support after graduation (if your program is at least 1 year)

Note: Travel costs to and within Romania are not covered.


Who Can Apply?

You must:

  • Be from a non-EU and non-EFTA country

  • Not already study or live long-term in Romania

  • Not be a former recipient of a Romanian state scholarship for the same level of study

  • Not belong to the diplomatic corps or their family in Romania

Priority is given to applicants from countries without a formal education agreement with Romania.


Fields of Study

Scholarships are offered in priority areas, including:

  • Economics and Business

  • Agriculture

  • Engineering and Technical Sciences

  • Oil and Gas

  • Other fields (depending on availability)

Note: Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy are not covered.


Study Levels & Duration

  • Bachelor’s: Full duration + 1 year Romanian language prep (if needed)

  • Master’s: Full duration + prep year if needed

  • PhD/Postgraduate (incl. cardiology & emergency medicine residency): Full duration + prep year if needed

All programs are taught in Romanian, so a language prep year is required unless you already know the language (proof needed).
