Scholarship Benefits

For Domestic Students (Australian citizens & residents):

  • Research Training Program (RTP): Includes a stipend, tuition fee offset, and allowances.
  • University Postgraduate Award (UPA): Covers tuition and provides a living allowance.
  • RTP Fee Offset Only: Covers tuition fees without a stipend.

For International Students:

  • RTP International Scholarship: Offers a stipend, tuition offset, and allowances.
  • University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA): Covers tuition, stipends, and allowances.
  • Tuition Fee Scholarships (TFS):
    • Regular TFS: Tuition covered by UNSW, stipend from Faculty/Supervisor.

    • TFS with External Funding: Tuition funded by UNSW, stipend from external sources (e.g., China Scholarship Council).

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants must:

Selections are made by the Central Scholarship Ranking Committee, with input from faculties and schools. Final approval is given by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise).

Applicants can receive only one type of HDR scholarship. Preference is given to those who have not previously completed a research degree at the same level.
