Job Description
The Polytechnic University of Turin is offering 14 scholarships for Afghan nationals who wish to pursue a Master of Science program for the 2025-2026 academic year. These scholarships are funded through a legacy established in honor of Mrs. Josephine Teresa Pratt and her husband, Ing. Silvano Zorzi, to support Afghan students in their academic endeavors in Italy.
Details of the Scholarship
Application Period for Non-Italian Qualification Applicants Outside the EU:
- First Call: December 2024 – January 30, 2025 (Results announced: March 30, 2025)
- Second Call: March 3, 2025 – April 3, 2025 (Results announced: June 6, 2025)
Benefits
The scholarships include:
- Annual Stipend: €8,000 gross (approximately €7,373.27 net, depending on individual tax conditions).
- Tuition Fee Waiver: Applicable for the academic years 2025/26 and 2026/27 for candidates holding recognized refugee status in Italy.
- Administrative Support: Assistance with applying for an Italian residence permit through the Politecnico Immigration Desk.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold Afghan citizenship.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification (minimum 15 years of schooling, including at least 3 years at the university level, and 180 ECTS credits or equivalent).
- Satisfy the admission requirements for a Master’s program at Politecnico di Torino for the academic year 2025/26.
- Have not previously enrolled in any degree program at Politecnico di Torino or any other Italian university.
Language Requirements:
Applicants can select courses in English or Italian, depending on their language proficiency. Certain candidates (e.g., native English speakers or those with degrees from English-speaking countries) are exempt from submitting a language proficiency certificate.
