Job Description

The University of Padua in Italy offers an incredible opportunity for international students through the Padua International Excellence Scholarship. This program provides 62 fully funded scholarships to outstanding applicants from around the world who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree taught in English at the university.

The scholarship is highly competitive, awarding only those with exceptional academic achievements. Successful candidates will also have the responsibility of serving as university ambassadors, representing Padua at various events and activities.

In addition to the International Excellence Scholarship, the University of Padua also offers Departmental Scholarships for International Students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Application Periods:

  • Unlimited Access Programs:

  • Limited Access Programs:
    • Enrollment starts: April 11, 2025
    • 1st application period: January 7, 2025 – March 7, 2025
  • Unlimited Access Programs (no scholarships awarded in the first period):
    • Enrollment starts: June 10, 2025
    • 2nd application period: March 2, 2025 – May 2, 2025
  • Single-cycle Degree in Medicine and Surgery:
    • Enrollment starts after IMAT test results are published

Scholarship Duration:

  • Bachelor’s and Single-cycle degrees: 3 continuous years
  • Master’s degrees: 2 years

If a student’s study period exceeds these durations, they will be responsible for covering their own expenses and tuition fees until graduation.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • Annual scholarship of €8,000
  • The scholarship is disbursed in two installments of €4,000 each academic year, provided students meet the merit requirements outlined in the call for applications.
  • Students are only required to pay a small yearly entry fee covering the regional tax and Marca da Bollo.

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for the Padua International Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Not hold Italian citizenship (except for those with dual citizenship, including Italian).
  2. Possess a foreign secondary school diploma (for Bachelor’s or Single-cycle degree applicants) or a foreign Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s degree applicants) that allows entrance to the Italian university system.
  3. Live outside Italy.
  4. Apply to one or more of the English-taught degree programs at the University of Padua — up to three different programs can be selected. Ensure you meet the specific program requirements.
  5. Not hold any other scholarships — combining this scholarship with others is not allowed.

Revocation

Your scholarship will be canceled by the University of Padua if:

  • If by the end of the following year, November 30th, 2024, you have not earned at least 20 ECTS.
  • You decide to change universities or stop taking classes.

Note: In the scenarios above, you must return any scholarship money you have already been awarded.

Selection Criteria

  • Based on academic excellence in their field of study, quality, and records from their prior learning, the Academic Committee of each degree program selects the most deserving applicants and grants them scholarships.
