Job Description

If you are passionate about humanitarian action and wish to pursue a Master’s degree with a fully funded scholarship, consider applying for the Network of Humanitarian Action (NOHA) Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD) program in International Humanitarian Action for the 2025-2027 academic cycle.

This multidisciplinary postgraduate program, supported by the Erasmus+ Scholarship of the European Union (EU), delivers high-quality education and professional skills to individuals working or aspiring to work in humanitarian relief.


Program Overview

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters, 120 ECTS credits)
  • Specializations: Professional and academic tracks in humanitarian action
  • Languages of Instruction: English, French, and Spanish

Additionally, the program collaborates with over 11 universities and multiple international NGOs worldwide.


Program Objectives

The NOHA-EMJMD aims to:

  • Train highly dedicated professionals in humanitarian assistance and sustainable practices.
  • Equip students with a global perspective on conflicts, disasters, and humanitarian challenges.
  • Prepare individuals to develop innovative responses to new and emerging humanitarian needs.

Scholarship Details

Financial Benefits:

  • Monthly Allowance: €1,400 per month
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Travel, visa, installation, and subsistence costs

Eligible Applicants:

  • Program countries: EU member states and EEA-EFTA countries (e.g., Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein).
  • Partner countries: All other countries (including Afghanistan).

Key Deadlines:

  • Scholarship Application Period: 1 October 2024 – 15 April 2025 (11:59 PM GMT)
  • Self-funded Deadline: July 2025
  • Non-EU Applicants Deadline: 1 July 2025

Who Can Apply?

The NOHA-EMJMD program targets individuals with:

  1. A strong commitment to humanitarian causes.
  2. A bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) in fields relevant to humanitarian action, such as:
    • Medical Sciences
    • Food Sciences
    • Engineering
    • Law
    • Social Sciences
    • Education Sciences
    • Economics and Management
    • Humanities
  3. Language Proficiency:
    • English: IELTS 6.5 (no component <6.0), TOEFL iBT 93 (minimum written score: 24), or Cambridge C1/C2.
    • Spanish: B2 (CEFR) certificate (if applicable).
    • French: C1 (CEFR) certificate (if applicable).

Exemptions:

  • Native English speakers.
  • Applicants who completed prior studies in English (proof required).

Focus Areas for Non-Master’s Applicants (Scholars & Guest Lecturers)

  • NOHA also provides scholarships for scholars and guest lecturers to enhance students’ understanding of localized humanitarian responses in complex emergencies.
  • Eligible applicants can come from NOHA universities, partner institutions, or organizations outside the consortium.
