Job Description

Applications are now open for the National Scholarship Program (NSP) of the Slovak Republic for the 2025/26 academic year. This government-funded initiative, launched in 2005, supports international students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists who wish to study, teach, conduct research, or create art at universities and research institutions in Slovakia.

The scholarships are funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic and aim to promote academic and cultural exchange.


Program Overview

  • 30 April 2025 (16:00 CET) – for stays starting in the next academic year

💸 Financial Support

The scholarship provides a monthly stipend based on your academic level and experience:

  • Master’s students: €620/month

  • PhD students: €1025.50/month

  • University teachers, researchers, artists:

  • Without PhD & <4 years experience: €1025.50
  • With PhD & <10 years experience: €1370
  • With PhD & >10 years experience: €1470

🔹 Travel Allowance:
One-time grant based on distance between your home and Slovakia, ranging from €50 to €1,500.


Eligibility Criteria

A) University Students

  • Must be enrolled in a master’s program or have completed at least 2.5 years of university studies outside Slovakia
  • Accepted by a Slovak higher education institution
  • Stay duration: 1–2 semesters (4–10 months)

B) PhD Students

  • Enrolled in a PhD or research training program abroad
  • Must have an invitation from a Slovak university or research institution
  • Stay duration: 1–10 months

C) University Teachers, Researchers, and Artists

  • Must be invited by a Slovak institution
  • Stay duration: 1–10 months

📋 Documents Required

For Students:

  • CV and Motivation Letter
  • Study plan
  • Two academic recommendation letters
  • Proof of enrollment at your home university
  • Academic transcripts and degree certificates (optional)
  • Invitation letter from the Slovak institution (required)

For PhD Students:

  • CV and Motivation Letter
  • Research/artistic plan
  • Recommendation from dissertation supervisor
  • Proof of PhD enrollment
  • Academic transcripts and publications (if any)
  • Invitation letter from the Slovak host

For Teachers/Researchers/Artists:

  • Updated CV
  • Research/teaching/artistic plan
  • Copy of highest academic degree
  • Publications/creative work (if applicable)
  • Invitation letter from the host institution

All documents must be in Slovak or English.
