Job Description
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) program is currently accepting applications for the academic year 2025-2026, providing a fantastic opportunity for international students to pursue higher education at the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT). Application Pathways
Applicants can choose one of the two available routes for applying to the Chinese Government Scholarship:
- Type A: Candidates can apply through local Chinese embassies, consulates, or relevant forwarding authorities such as national institutions or international organizations in their home country.
- Type B: Alternatively, applicants can directly submit their applications to Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT).

Full Coverage
Eligible candidates under the full funding category will receive:

- A monthly stipend of CNY 3,000 for master’s students and CNY 3,500 for PhD students

Applicants who secure partial funding will be eligible for one or more of the benefits listed above.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the CSC scholarship, applicants must:
- Be citizens of a country other than China and in good physical health.
- Fulfill the following educational requirements:
- Master’s programs: Hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
- PhD programs: Hold a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
- Not be recipients of any other scholarships.
- Meet the required language proficiency standards:
- For English-taught programs: TOEFL ≥ 80, IELTS ≥ 6.5, or equivalent scores. Native English speakers without these certifications must take the CQUPT English Exam in May.
- For Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or higher. Applicants with HSK Level 5 or above may directly begin their studies, while those with HSK Level 4 can opt for a one-year Chinese language preparatory course before starting their degree.
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare the following documents:
- CSC Application Form (in English or Chinese)
- Certified copies of the highest diploma and academic transcripts, including notarized English or Chinese translations of non-English/Chinese documents.
- A study plan or research proposal:
- Minimum of 1,000 words for master’s programs
- Minimum of 1,500 words for doctoral programs
- A detailed CV
- Two letters of recommendation from university professors (in English or Chinese)
- A valid passport copy with an expiration date beyond December 30, 2023
- A passport-sized photograph
- The English Foreigner Physical Examination Form, completed and signed, valid for six months.
- A non-criminal record certificate, issued within six months prior to the application submission date.
- Proof of language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or HSK scores as applicable).
- A CQUPT pre-admission letter (if available).
- Any additional documents, such as academic papers, published articles, or certificates of awards (optional).
Application Process
Qualified applicants must complete the following two steps to apply:
- Submit an Online Application via the CSC System
- Visit the CSC Online Application System for International Students.
- Choose Category B and use CQUPT’s code: 10617.
- After completing the form, download, print, and sign the hard copy.
- Submit an Online Application to CQUPT
- Access the CQUPT Â International Student Service System.
- Select the option for the Chinese Government Scholarship.
- Upload all required documents, including the signed CSC Application Form. here.
