The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) – Category B: University Program is now open for applications for the 2025-2026 academic year at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE). Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the CGS scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Nationality: Be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
  2. Academic Qualifications:
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree for Master’s programs.
    • Hold a Master’s degree for Ph.D. programs.
    • Graduating students must provide proof of graduation by August 25, 2025.
  3. Age Requirements:
    • Under 35 for Master’s applicants.
    • Under 40 for Ph.D. applicants.
  4. Language Proficiency:
    • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 (minimum score of 180) or HSK Level 5 for direct entry.
    • English-taught programs: IELTS (minimum score: 6.0), TOEFL (minimum score: 80), or equivalent certification.
  5. Conduct: Comply with Chinese laws and SWUFE regulations.

  1. A recent ID photo (taken within the last 6 months).
  2. Notarized highest degree certificate.
  3. Academic transcripts from previous academic levels.
  4. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.

Selection Process

The selection process involves the following stages:
